Baked Oil-free Fries – Potatoes That Actually Promote Weight-Loss

Baked Oil-free Fries

By Chef Katie Mae

Makes about 1 serving per potato |Ready in 25 minutes| Stores 1 week in fridge

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 or more potatoes (any kind)

DIRECTIONS

  1. Preheat oven to 425°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Cut the potatoes in half lengthwise, and slice them lengthwise into ¼ to ½-inch strips. You can leave them wide so they look like steak fries, or slice them into thinner pieces. Thicker fries will need to cook a little bit longer.
  3. Place the sliced potatoes on prepared baking sheet. Bake them for 10 to 12 minutes. Then flip them and bake for 10 to 12 more minutes. They will be lightly browned and starting to puff. Make sure that the thickest ones are fully cooked, otherwise, let them cook for a few more minutes. Let them cool slightly and then serve.

CHEF'S NOTES

If you happen to use a perforated baking tray OR a convection oven, the total cooking time will be a little less, between 15 to 20 minutes. Plus, the fries will also be cooked more evenly since the hot air can circulate.
